Wilson, 26, will become the second defender
added by the Rapids this offseason. Colorado acquired former
Ipswich Town defender Tommy Smith last weekend. Wilson, who has
had two stints with Rangers in Scotland's first division, has
also made four appearances for Liverpool.
The Scottish Sun was the first to report Wilson's signing with
Colorado, pending a medical. Rangers manager Graeme Murty
confirmed to multiple outlets that Wilson flew to the United
States on Friday to undergo a medical and negotiate contract
terms.
Wilson's contract is reportedly set to expire this summer. He
can also play left back, and will be another key addition to
Colorado's plans under new manager Anthony Hudson, which
includes a shift to a 3-5-2 formation. The Rapids have also
added defenders Deklan Wynne, Edgar Castillo and Kip Colvey.
