Obituary
Alice Davis, 96, of Mount Pulaski
died at 1:30 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center.
Alice was born April 25, 1921 in Potter County,
South Dakota, the daughter of Tom and Vernita (Weckel)
Wachter. She graduated from Mount Pulaski High
School in 1939.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Martin in
1957 and David in 1963, and two sisters Beryl Mudget
and Florence Beck.
She held offices in the Mount Pulaski P.T.A. and
District P.T.A., Women’s Club and Past Presidents
Women’s Club.

She was a nurse’s aide at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital from 1965 to 1985. Then
was on staff in activities and social service at the
Christian Nursing Home for 20 years. She was the
first president of the Nursing Home Auxiliary and
was a volunteer & key person. She was a volunteer at
the Mount Pulaski Court House. Alice was a member of
the Mount Pulaski Christian Church.
She made many wedding and bridesmaids dresses and
planned many weddings and showers.
Services for Alice will be held 10:30 a.m. on
Friday, January 26, 2018 at Mount Pulaski Christian
Church in Mount Pulaski, with Casey McCormick
officiating. Visitation will take place one hour
prior to the service (9:30-10:30 a.m.) on Friday,
January 26, 2018 also at the church.
Memorials may be made to Mount Pulaski Christian
Church.
