Obituary

Arthur D. Rohrer, 86, passed away at 9:01 a.m. on June 20, 2018 at St. Clara’s Manor in Lincoln.

Arthur was born on September 15, 1931; son of Henry and Ruth (Damarin) Rohrer. He married Barbara Jane McNeil on December 12, 1951 in Jacksonville. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2014.

Arthur is survived by his three sons: Stephen (Susan) Rohrer, Mike (Darla) Rohrer, and Jim (Debra) Rohrer all of Lincoln, one sister, Rita (Ron) Wilson of Lincoln, seven Grandchildren: Ty (Rachel) Rohrer, Jennifer (Jeff) Leesman, Amy (Brent) Morgan, Doug (Logan) Rohrer, Neil (Taylor) Rohrer, Jason (Taylor) Rohrer, and Tayt Rohrer; four great-grandchildren: Kallie Morgan, Jenna Leesman, Jeris Leesman, and Kaden Morgan.

 

Arthur proudly served his country as a United States Marine from 1952-1954, where he was a corporal stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. He was a life-long member of the American Legion Post # 263, St. John United Church of Christ, Lincoln Rotary, and the Oasis Senior Center. He was a 4-H leader for many years and he graduated from the University of Illinois in 1952. He was a lifelong farmer in Logan County.

Private family services for Arthur will be held.

Memorials may be made in his name to the American Legion Post # 263.

Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
