[July 09, 2018]  CORNLAND - Donald Henry Ford, 87, passed away at 10:37 a.m. at his home on July 2, 2018.

Visitation:  9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday July 6, 2018 at Mount Pulaski Christian Church

Service: 11 a.m. Friday at the church

Funeral home: Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, Mount Pulaski

Obituary

Donald Henry Ford, 87, passed away at 10:37 a.m. at his home on July 2, 2018.

Donald was born on July 6, 1930 in Springfield, son of Delbert L. and Tommy (Irving) Ford. He married Sarah Turner on August 31, 1957 in Elkhart. She survives him.

Also surviving Donald are his children: Kevin (Jama) Ford of Sugar Grove, and Kelby (Angie) Ford of Elkhart; one brother: Richard (Marie) Ford of Xenia, OH; five grandchildren: Brynn, Ryan, Sam, Lizzie, and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Delbert, and two sisters.

Donald farmed in the Logan County area for 40 years. He proudly served in United States Navy from 1951-1955 and was a member of the Elkhart American Legion Post #616. He was a member of the Mount Pulaski Christian Church and loved spending time with his family.

Services for Donald will be 11:00 a.m. Friday July 6, 2018 at Mount Pulaski Christian Church with Casey McCormick and Eddie Bratton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial at Elkhart Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the Elkhart American Legion Post # 616.

Memorials may be made in Donald’s name to Mount Pulaski Christian Church or the American Cancer Society.

Services are entrusted to Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
