Grace
Lutheran Church, 201 S. College St., Lincoln, has formed a local
chapter of the Lutheran Military Support Group (LMSG).

“This is a lay-led group of military people who
want to serve the men and women of the United States military,
Veterans and their families,” explains Clarence Mankin, Atlanta who
is a member of Grace and the liaison for the local LMSG chapter.
LMSG is a national non-profit organization made up of more than 350
congregations that are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod (ELS)
and the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). Formed by
veterans, LMSG is designed to connect and share Christian fellowship
and support with all military men and women and their families.
Since its formation in 2015, LMSG has approved grants that
contributed thousands of dollars toward local congregations to
support and thank men, women and their families.

Christians who are deeply interested in serving our military,” says Mankin. “We
look forward to working in the (city) area through events and spiritual
