In the last six year's the fundraiser has brought
in more than $125,000 for ALS research. The event is funded almost
entirely through the generous donations of over 150 individuals and
businesses in the community, leaving the majority of the entry fee
to help advance the research into the causes, treatments, and
prevention of ALS.
While the race is very competitive chip-timed race (course record of
15:53 from Braxton Schuldt last year), all types of runners and
walkers are welcome. It is more than just a race - with a post-race
meal, raffles, silent auctions, and more.
This is a great event for all ages and all types of runners and
walkers. For the competitive runner, it is a chip timed race with
prizes. For the casual runner or walker, it's all about joining the
cause and having a good time. If you don't want to run or walk the
full 5k, there is a shortcut you can take. The more participants,
the more money we raise to help find a cure for ALS.
All walkers and runners will get a T-shirt, post race fruit and
water, a free drink ticket you can use at the Stag-R-Inn, and a
post-race meal. Spectators and non-participants may also enjoy the
meal with a free will donation. Following the race, you can continue
to hang out at the Stag-R and enjoy drinks, food, bags tournament,
DJ, and more!
The course is all asphalt. The race starts at the Stag-R, winds its
way out into the countryside, comes back through town, and finishes
back on main street in front of the Stag-R-Inn. Awards will be given
to the top male and female runners in several categories for each.
Even if you can't walk or run in the race, you can still participate
or donate. Contact us for more information!
Awards will be given to the first place male and female finishers.
Race categories for top 3 finishers in each category for male and
female are as follows:
Under 10
11-19
