THIS WEEK: After the thrills -- and crashes -- at Daytona, the series heads to Kentucky Speedway and a race that looks like a lot of others every season coming on 1.5-mile D-shaped oval. But the last time they raced at such a track, two weeks ago at Chicagoland, it turned out to be the race of the year. ... This will be the eight race at Kentucky with the track first hosting the big series in 2011. The track has never had more than one Cup race a season. ... Martin Truex Jr. won this race last year on his way to the championship, dominating with 152 laps led as the race went into overtime and concluded on Lap 274, seven more than scheduled. ... This will be the 19th of 36 races for the season. ... Erik Jones won last week at Daytona, notching his first career victory and a spot in the playoffs. ... *Kyle Busch leads the points standings with 749, followed by *Kevin Harvick (692), *Truex (629), *Joey Logano (618), Brad Keselowski (596), *Clint Bowyer (594), Kurt Busch (566), Kyle Larson (544), Denny Hamlin (538) and Aric Almirola (503). ... *Jones is in 13th (448) and *Austin Dillon is in 18th (347) and inside the playoff cutoff.

THIS WEEK: After some controversy at Daytona when Justin Haley went below the yellow line to pass for the lead on the final lap - which he was penalized for -- Cup series regular Kyle Larson ended up winning, with Haley relegated to 18th, the last driver on the lead lap. ... This will be the 24th race at Kentucky for the series, a track it has run on since 2001. ... Cup regular Kyle Busch won this race last year, but Tyler Reddick took the checkered flag in the fall. ... This is the 17th of 33 races on the season. ... Elliott Sadler leads the Xfinity standings with 582 points, followed by Daniel Hemric (570), Cole Custer (556), *Christopher Bell (547), *Justin Allgaier (528), *Tyler Reddick (503), Brandon Jones (488), Ryan Truex (455) and Matt Tifft (425).

THIS WEEK: After a week off, the 12th of 23 races on the season is on tap. ... The trucks have raced at Kentucky since 2000, and this will be the 21st series race at the track. ... Bell won this race last season. ... Brett Moffitt won two weeks ago at Chicagoland, holding off Ben Rhodes and Johnny Sauter down the stretch for his third victory of the season. ... *Sauter leads the Truck standings (508 points), followed by *Noah Gragson (443), *Moffitt (423), Stewart Friesen (368), Grant Enfinger (367), *Haley (362), Matt Crafton (356), Rhodes (349), Myatt Snider (307) and Cody Coughlin (290). Only eight drivers make the playoffs in the series.

VERIZON INDYCAR SERIES: HONDA INDY TORONTO (85 laps, 151.81 miles around an 11-turn 1.786-mile temporary street course), Streets of Toronto; Toronto, Ontario.

THIS WEEK: Coming off a thriller at Iowa Speedway won by James Hinchcliffe, the series is right back at it in Canada for the 12th of 17 races on the season, and one of the most popular and longest-running stops on the schedule, with races going back to 1986 in the now-defunct Champ Car series. ... Josef Newgarden won this race last season and in 2015, with Will Power taking the race in 2016. ... Five drivers are within 53 points of each other with six races to go, but leader Scott Dixon is up by 33. ... New Zealand's Dixon leads the standings (411 points), followed by Newgarden (378), Alexander Rossi (370), Ryan Hunter-Reay (359), and Australian Power (358) rounding out the top five.

THIS WEEK: After the British Grand Prix, F1 takes the week off before heading to Germany next week. ... German Sebastian Vettel won at Silverstone, holding off Englishman Lewis Hamilton in his home grand prix, something Hamilton would like to see reversed at Hockenheim on July 22. ... Vettel leads the standing in his Ferrari with 171 points, followed by Hamilton, Mercedes (163 points), Finland's Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari (116), Australia's Daniel Ricciardo, Red Bull (106) and Finland's Valterri Bottas, Mercedes (104).

THIS WEEK: The NHRA is taking a week off to go from the East Coast to the Western Swing, starting July 20 at Bandimere Speedway outside Denver followed on consecutive weeks with a trip to Sonoma, Calif., and then Kent, Wash. ... Steve Torrence won in Top Fuel at the NHRA New England Nationals in Epping, N.H., last weekend, with Matt Hagan taking Funny Car and Chris McGaha winning Pro Stock. The Pro Stock Motorcycles were off but will return in Denver. ... Torrence leads the Top Fuel standings (1,086 points), followed by Tony Schumacher (896), Clay Millican (881), Leah Pritchett (820) and Doug Kalitta (801) rounding out the top five. ... Courtney Force leads Funny Car (1,069), followed by Hagan (914), Jack Beckman (847), Ron Capps (834) and Robert Hight (829). ...
