[July 19, 2018]   A two-day Illinois State Dental Society Foundation Mission of Mercy will take place on Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st at the Bank of Springfield, 1 Convention Center Plaza, in Springfield.

More than 1,000 volunteer dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental students and lay volunteers from across Illinois will join together for days of service to those who are in need of dental care but cannot afford the doctor visits.

All services will be provided by licensed professionals. This is a free first come, first served basis event with no pre-registration or appointment required.

Free services will include cleanings, fillings, extractions, and partial dentures on a case-by-case basis.

Doors will open at the event at 6 a.m. each day, and professionals are preparing to treat approximately 1,000 patients each day.

There will also be a special time set aside for veterans only on Thursday, July 19th starting at 1 p.m. and running to 4 p.m. During this three-hour advance examination, patients will go through dental triage and medical screening and then will be given priority entrance for care and treatment on Friday.

An excellent opportunity for free dental care is being offered throughout the community, and all those from Springfield and surrounding areas are encouraged to take advantage of this free offering through the Illinois State Dental Society Foundation.
