Lincoln Legion Post 263 Defeats Danville Blue In High-Scoring Affair

There were runs aplenty on Thursday, as Lincoln Legion Post 263
defeated Danville Blue 9-6.
Lincoln got things started in the first inning when the team scored
on a pass ball during Bryce McMullen's 'at-bat.' Then McMullen
doubled.
Lincoln put up four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive
onslaught by Lincoln was led by Jordan Jacobs, Brenden Eigenbrod,
and Jake Konczyk, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Danville Blue scored three runs in the sixth inning. #18 and #9 all
moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
Nick Toft was credited with the victory for Lincoln Legion Post 263.
He allowed ten hits and six runs over five and two-thirds innings,
striking out three.
Danville pitcher #6 took the loss the Blue. He went two-thirds of an
inning, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out one.
Pitcher Cam Glick started the game for Lincoln Legion Post 263. He
surrendered zero runs on zero hits over one and one-third innings,
striking out two.
Danville Pitcher #14 started the game for the Blue. He lasted three
and a third innings, allowing three hits and three runs while
striking out four.
Lincoln Legion Post 263 collected nine hits on the day.
Konczyk and Devyn Snow each racked up multiple hits for Lincoln.
Snow and Konczyk each managed two hits to lead.
Danville Blue saw the ball well, racking up ten hits in the game
with #9, #18, #8, and #13 each collecting multiple hits on the Blue
side.
Danville's #9 went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Blue in hits.

The Legion team played Mattoon
immediately after Danville. Lincon played well, achieving an 8-4
lead. Going into the seventh inning, Mattoon managed to tie the
game, sending it into extra innings.
The game went into overtime but was then interrupted by lightning
and had to be postponed. The game was scheduled to resume on Friday.
On Thursday, Lincoln had a runner and first, no outs and three balls
and no strikes on batter Brenden Eigenbrod in the top of the eighth
inning.
The 8:30 p.m. game scheduled for Thursday evening with Macon County
and Charleston was rescheduled to Friday as well.
