Obituary
Gregory S. “Flako” Feldman, 61, of
Lincoln, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at
his home, with his wife and daughters by his side.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Holy Family Catholic
Church. A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy
Family Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible
officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery
in Lincoln.
Gregory Stephen Feldman was born November 28, 1956,
in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the son of Robert
Joseph and Eleanor Mae Fults Feldman. Greg was
united in marriage to Teena Harbert on September 23,
1978. She survives.
Greg is also survived by his daughters: Autumn
(Mike) Usalis of Glen Ellyn, Abbie (Phill) Stroik of
Bloomington, his mother Eleanor Feldman of Lincoln,
one brother Anthony Feldman of Chicago, and one
sister Monica (Kevin) Ritchhart of Lincoln. He was a
devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, and a
loving Papa to his granddaughters, Aspen Marie
Usalis and Skylar Abigail Usalis.
He was preceded in death by his father and
grandparents. |
Greg attended St. Patrick’s Grade School/Carroll
Catholic School and graduated from Lincoln Community High School in
1974. He was a carpenter for the Illinois Department of Corrections
and Carpenters Local #742. Greg retired in June of 2017.
He was an avid Cubs and Duke Blue Devils fan and enjoyed watching
Bears games with the “Bear Babies.” He was always willing to
volunteer his time for various events and individuals, and he
enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends. Greg knew
no stranger and was always known for his kind heart, quick wit, and
ability to make people smile.
Greg was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Elks Lodge #914,
Eagles Aerie #2708, Sons of American Legion Post #263, and he was a
3rd Degree Knight with the Lincoln Knights of Columbus Council
#1250, in which he also served as Trustee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the V Foundation
(Cancer Research) or to Carroll Catholic School.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of
Lincoln.
