[June 04, 2018]  Back-to-back homers from pinch hitter Daniel Palka and Adam Engel in the sixth inning powered the host Chicago White Sox past the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1 in the rubber match of a three-game series Sunday.

Palka stepped in for Jose Rondon with one out in the sixth and delivered a tie-breaking, two-run shot, his sixth of the season, to right field. Engel followed with a solo blast, his second, to center.

Engel totaled two RBIs and Jose Abreu and Alfredo Gonzalez each added one for Chicago, which took two of three in the series after winning 8-3 Friday and losing 5-0 Saturday. The White Sox had lost seven of their previous nine games.

Milwaukee scored its only run when a fielding error by Chicago third baseman Yolmer Sanchez allowed Christian Yelich to reach on a force attempt and Manny Pina to score with one out in the top of the fifth.

Gonzalez tied the game in the fifth with a two-out single before the homers from Palka and Engel sent the Brewers to their third loss in five games.

Abreu and Engel each knocked RBI doubles in the eighth to seal the result.

Chicago reliever Chris Volstad (1-3) earned the win after recording the final out of the Brewers' sixth. White Sox starter Dylan Covey allowed an unearned run on four hits and three walks while striking out seven in five innings.

Milwaukee reliever Matt Albers gave up both homers, but starter Brent Suter (5-4) was charged with the loss after surrendering a pair of runs on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts over five frames.

Brewers right-hander Junior Guerra (3-3, 2.65 ERA) takes the mound Tuesday for the first of two games in Cleveland. White Sox righty Reynaldo Lopez (1-4, 3.80) starts the opener of a four-game series Tuesday in Minnesota.
