Tim Anderson hit a tiebreaking,
two-run single in the sixth inning and finished with three RBIs as
the Chicago White Sox recorded a 5-2 victory over the Minnesota
Twins on Wednesday night in Minneapolis.
Anderson came into the game with two hits in his last 18 at-bats but
produced a solid all-around game as the White Sox won for the fourth
time in six games.
He hit an RBI single off Jake Odorizzi in the fourth, and two
innings later, he atoned for being thrown out trying to advance on
that hit.
Anderson snapped a 2-2 tie with by lining a 2-2 curveball from Ryan
Pressly into left field to give Chicago a 4-2 lead. Anderson then
stole third two pitches later and easily scored the fifth run on
Adam Engel's sacrifice bunt, which was initially an infield single
before replay overturned it.
It was Anderson's third game with at least three RBIs this season.
Anderson had a chance to add to his RBI total with runners at second
and third in the eighth after left fielder Eddie Rosario misplayed
Kevan Smith's fly ball for an error, but he struck out.
Yolmer Sanchez scored Chicago's other run on a sixth-inning wild
pitch by Pressly.
Ehire Adrianza and Ryan LaMarre hit RBI singles for Minnesota, which
lost for only the third time in its last 11 home games against
Chicago and mustered two hits in the final five innings.

Sunday against the Cleveland Indians.

innings, four White Sox relievers combined on four scoreless frames.
Jace Fry fanned Max Kepler with two on to end the seventh, and
Joakim Soria got the last three outs for his sixth save in eight
opportunities.
Odorizzi (3-3) allowed three runs and six hits in five-plus innings.
He was lifted after allowing hits to Sanchez and Jose Abreu to start
the sixth.
