[June 22, 2018]  LINCOLN - Paul Kennedy, 80, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Visitation: : 500-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the funeral home

Obituary

Paul Kennedy, 80, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.

Paul was born on January 9, 1938 in Rushville, son of James Dale and Margaret Jane (Haber) Kennedy. He married Lauralee Davis in 1976. She preceded him in death on February 12, 2015.

Surviving Paul are his children: Paul William “Bud” (Debra) Johnson Jr. of Danvers, Rick Allen (Angie) Johnson of Heyworth, and Greg David Johnson (Scott Anderson) of Encino, CA; sister, Susan Gardner and brother, Jim Kennedy; grandchildren: Tera (Michael) Johnson Swartz; Joel, Josh, Jacob, Elizabeth, Caleb and Mariah Johnson; step grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Mochel; Brandon Winkeler; Anthony Manzella, Melissa Tapke; eight great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and siblings June Yates and Harlan Kennedy.
 

Paul was a United States Army Veteran. He and his wife owned and operated Kennedy Budget Counselors, where they did credit counseling and tax preparation. They also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, NV for the winter months and spending time with family.

Services for Paul will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2018 also at the funeral home. Burial at Hartsburg Union Cemetery will follow the service where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #263.

Memorials may be made in Paul’s name to the Humane Society of Logan County or the American Lung Association.
