With a theme of "Let Freedom Ring" area children
are encouraged to decorate themselves in patriotic costume, or
bikes, trikes, strollers and wagons. For this particular event
skateboards and roller blades are also acceptable. There will be no
motorized vehicles permitted with the exception of wheelchairs. Dogs
are also welcome in this parade and may also come in costume if they
choose. Please be sure that all pets are leashed.
Decorations should be patriotic in theme and will be judged for
originality, creativity, and effort on the part of the child. For
children ages 12 and under, a prize will be awarded to the winner of
their category and age group.
Registration for the parade will begin at 10 a.m. on the south side
of Scully Park in Lincoln. The parade will line up adjacent to the
park on Decatur Street. Judging will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the
parade will commence once judging is completed.
The parade will depart from Decatur Street at Scully Park and
proceed south toward Wyatt Avenue. At Wyatt Avenue, the parade will
turn left and proceed to the front parking area and lawn of the
Lincoln Park District Recreational Center.
After winners are announced from the parade participants,
children will be invited play in the water with a "hose down" from the Lincoln
Fire Department.

all the attendees on the Fourth of July!

with prizes awarded.
Wrap up the day with a great fireworks show on the golf driving
range at 9 p.m. Come early and get a great spot for viewing the
