Obituary
Harry Eugene Rohlfs, age 91, passed
into eternal life on June 18, 2018 at The Christian
Village in Lincoln.
He was born on March 13, 1927 in Lincoln, the son of
Harry Louis Rohlfs and Hester Kirkman Rohlfs. Upon
graduation from Lincoln High School in 1945, he
joined the Army and served on the Homefront at the
end of WWII. He married Shirley Joan Potter, also of
Lincoln, in 1948; she died in 1968. Together they
had 4 sons who survive: Msgr. Steven Rohlfs of
Peoria, Michael (Cheryl) of Northbrook, Timothy (Vaune)
of Exton, PA, and Christopher (Joanne) of Blackwood,
NJ. In 1969, he married Emily G. Leeper of Normal,
who survives along with her daughter Donna (Minott)
Wilkinson of Lincoln.

Harry was employed in the petroleum
industry for over 40 years, holding various
positions in the Midwest and East Coast at Cities
Service, Citgo, Chevron, Cumberland Farms and Getty.
In addition to Lincoln, Harry resided over the years
in Danville, Somerdale, NJ and Normal.
He is survived by four sisters: Betty Justus of
Moberly, MO, and Lincoln residents Joyce Paige
Musick, Jewel Schachtele, and Sharon (Vernon)
Shehorn. Another sister, Darlene McLendon of
Lincoln, preceded him in death. In all, Harry was
blessed with 11 grandchildren, eight
great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home in Lincoln on Friday, June 22nd, from 4:00 to
6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at
Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln on June 23rd
at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation at the Church one
hour before the funeral mass officiated by Harry’s
son, Msgr. Steven Rohlfs. Burial will follow at New
Union Cemetery in Lincoln where full military rites
will be accorded by the American Legion Post #263.
Memorials may be made in Harry’s name to Donor’s
Choice.
