Indianapolis natives Emoni Smith and Erynn
Young were recognized for their outstanding play during their
time at LC. The Lady Lynx then led from start to finish in their
win over the Loggers 86-67. Young went for a
season-high 30 points in the contest. She also had six rebounds,
three blocks and three steals. Nautica Preston (Chicago) scored
21 points, while freshman Kaleia Monitiero (Rockford) had a
career-high 22 rebounds. Elizabeth Bankole (Rockford) added six
points and 11 rebounds. Emoni Smith scored nine points and had
three steals.
“We came out with the mindset in the first half that we need to
have going forward,” said Lincoln Coach Matt Vavro. “I thought
Kaleia was phenomenal tonight getting us extra possessions. It
was good to see our turnovers under 15. It’s always nice to win
on Sophomore Night for those kids.”
Lincoln (#17) improved their season record to 25-4 with one game
left to go. LC will host John Wood CC on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
