Throughout her years of living history
interpretation, she has portrayed women who lived and thrived in
central Illinois. She will appear at the Tea in period costume as
she portrays a character from Lincoln’s Era. In making the
announcement Bidwell stated, “The Spring for Tea Committee is
excited to offer the gifts and talents of this creative young woman
as our Tea speaker. She will bring a unique and innovative approach
to this, the first of several events planned for 2018 by the Harvest
of Talents for World Hunger Ministry.”
Spring for Tea, a premiere event of the Harvest, will take place
Saturday, April 14, in the Fellowship Center of Lincoln Christian
Church in Lincoln. Doors to the event will open at 10:45 a.m. with
tea being served at 11:30 a.m. The Tea tables are hostessed by women
from Lincoln and surrounding communities. Each table is set with
china, silver, crystal, and decorated creatively with a variety of
embellishments including flowers, keepsakes, heirlooms and hand
created treasures.
Each table setting is unique. Some will feature settings handed down
from earlier generations while others were wedding gifts to the
hostess and/or finds from local auctions and thrift stores. Among
the unique offerings at the 2018 Tea will be a table set entirely
with a variety of milk glass pieces from a private collection.
A variety of sweet and savory foods, selected especially for the
event and prepared by local bakers and cooks, will be offered on the
tea menu, accompanied by a special blend of tea.

on hand to greet the guests who, upon their arrival, will be
escorted to their assigned tables by Men in Black. Prior to the
serving of tea, guest will be invited to a promenade of the tea
tables. The afternoon will feature door prizes donated by local
individuals and business owners. Each guest will take home a program
of the event as a momento of the occasion.
Tickets for Spring for Tea are reserved at $25.00 each with all
proceeds becoming a part of the 35th Annual Harvest of Talents for World Hunger,
to be held on Saturday, October 27. The Harvest is a unique ministry of Lincoln
Christian Church, with every penny raised earmarked to meet hunger needs
worldwide, in Jesus name.
Chairperson Bidwell extends a special invitation to all area women to attend the
Tea. She comments, “We are thrilled to have Anne Moseley as our guest speaker as
she brings a bit of colorful history to a Lincoln area women’s event based on a
character from the era of our beloved President, Abraham Lincoln. We consider
this a perfect occasion for tea guests to share an afternoon with special
friends and family in a somewhat splendid and unique setting.”
Tickets may be purchased in the office of Lincoln Christian Church, 204 North
McLean Street, Lincoln, during regular business hours. Those having questions
concerning the tea are invited to call the church office at 217-732-7618.
