Free Program on Colon Cancer

SPRINGFIELD -
Memorial Medical Center will host a free program on colon cancer on
Thursday, March 22, in the Memorial Center for Learning and
Innovation (MCLI).

The program, “Keep Your Rear in the Clear: A Colon Cancer Awareness
Event,” begins at 5 p.m. with opening remarks in the H.D. Smith
Tiered Classroom on the MCLI's second floor. Participants will learn
about colorectal cancer prevention, screening and treatment.
The program will feature Dr. Dmitry Shuster, a Springfield Clinic
gastroenterologist, from 5:15-6:15 p.m., who will speak on
colorectal cancer prevention, and Dr. Prasad Poola, an SIU Medicine
colorectal surgeon, from 6:15-7 p.m., who will speak on colorectal
cancer treatment.

A question-and-answer panel discussion will be held from 7-7:30 p.m. Light
refreshments and snacks will be available.
