Lincoln Railers softball team suffers 8-0 loss to Williamsville

The Railers Varsity softball team was shutout by the Williamsville Lady Bullets Friday afternoon by a score of 8-0.

Williamsville scored quickly in the first inning on an RBI double by Danielle Dennis and the Lady Bullets offense never let up from there. The Lady Bullets scored eight runs on seven hits over six innings off Lincoln starter Kerstin Osborne. Osborne did strike out five Williamsville batters.

Osborne, Sydney Worth and Bayleigh Gillum each had hits for Lincoln.

Payton Long was in the circle for Williamsville. She tossed seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out 10 batters. Dennis and Emma Walbert each had two hits for the Lady Bullets. Skylar Dees, Kaileigh Moser and Molly Walter also had hits for Williamsville.

Lincoln is now 1-1 on the season.

The Railers host Morton today at 4:30 p.m. at Schweitzer Field.
