Obituary
Mary Fitzpatrick Ripa, 65, passed
away peacefully at her home in New Sharon, Maine on
Wednesday, March 14, 2018. She was born on January
3, 1953 in Lincoln to Gregory and Evelyn
Fitzpatrick.
She graduated from Illinois State University in 1975
with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a
dedicated teacher who started her career in
Illinois, taught in Massachusetts, and ended her
career in Maine.
On May 23, 1981 Mary married Philip Ripa and they
had two children together, Danielle and John.
Besides being a life-long teacher Mary was also an
avid gardener with many perennial gardens. Mary was
a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in
Farmington Maine.
Mary was preceded in death by her father, Gregory E.
Fitzpatrick, her brother Joseph E. Fitzpatrick, and
two infant brothers, James and William. Mary leaves
behind her mother Evelyn Fitzpatrick, husband Philip, children Danielle (Scott)
Ogden and John (Amanda) Ripa, grandchildren, Luna
and Finley Ripa, and Rosemary Ogden as well as three
sisters, Deb Curry, Joni (Galen) Marten, and Peggy
(Greg) Morrow and one brother, Louie (Sue)
Fitzpatrick, one sister-in-law, Peggy Fitzpatrick,
and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Adams-McFarlane Funeral
Home in Farmington, Maine on Sunday, March 18, 2018
from 4-6 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday,
March 19th at 11 a.m. at St. Josephs Catholic Church
in Farmington. Burial will be in the spring.
A Memorial mass will be held in Lincoln on Saturday,
March 24th at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church in
Lincoln with a dinner to follow at the K of C Hall.
Memorials can be made to Carroll Catholic School.
