[May 03, 2018]  LINCOLN - Kenneth A. Brooks, 94, of Lincoln, passed away today, Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his home.

Visitation: Sunday May 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peasley Funeral Home

Rosary:  Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the funeral home

Mass of Christian Burial: Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church

Obituary

Kenneth A." Kenny" Brooks, 94, of Lincoln passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. John Pham officiating.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Peasley Funeral Home.
A Rosary Service will be held at 4:30 p.m. prior to the visitation.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post # 263 of Lincoln.

Kenneth A. Brooks was born on June 18, 1923 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky the son of Ord and Eliza Austin Brooks. He was united in marriage to Catherine Ready on October 30, 1948. She preceded him in death on February 11, 2014.

He is survived by one daughter: Lori (Bob) Mandel of Lisle, Illinois, one son: Kenneth L. (Paula) Brooks of Kansas City, Missouri , Eight grandchildren: Meghan Mandel, Thomas Mandel, Emily Mandel, Austin Brooks, Preston Brooks, Cru Cavage, Jordon Cavage, Chase Cavage.

Funeral Director

Kenney was preceded in death by his wife, four brothers: Glenn, Charles, Herman and Harold Brooks, one sister: Edna Gaither.

He proudly served in the Army Air Force during WW II.
Kenny was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1260, 3rd and 4th Degree Knight and was given the honorary title of "Mr. K.C." for his many faithful years of service.
He worked at Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria and went into a business partnership at T & A Appliance in Lincoln until he retired in 1983.

Kenny liked to travel , spend time with his family and volunteering at the Knights of Columbus.

Memorials may be made the Knights of Columbus Council # 1260 in Lincoln, Illinois.
