Albert Pujols got career hit No.
2,999 with a double in the second inning, and the Los Angeles Angels
scored all of their runs in the first four innings, cruising to a
12-3 win over the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday night in Anaheim,
Calif.
With a chance for No. 3,000, Pujols was hit by a pitch in the fourth
inning, popped out to first base in the sixth and flied out to right
field in the eighth.
The win completed a three-game sweep for the Angels. Pujols finished
the night 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, a modest performance on a
night the Angels' offense exploded for 15 hits. Luis Valbuena and
Justin Upton each had three hits, while Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani
and Andrelton Simmons each had two.
Braves 11, Mets 0
Julio Teheran carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning as Atlanta

took the final two games at Chase Field to split the four-game set.

Jansen worked the ninth for his fifth save, his second in as many
days.

and gave up three hits with four strikeouts. Sammy Solis (1-1) got
the victory after he got the final out of the top of the sixth --
throwing only one pitch.
Blue Jays 13, Indians 11 (11 innings, Game 1)
Yangervis Solarte completed his first career five-hit game with his
first career grand slam in the 11th inning, giving visiting Toronto
a victory over Cleveland in the first game of a doubleheader.
Russell Martin and Josh Donaldson each hit two-run homers for the
Blue Jays, who had a season-best 17 hits. Solarte drove in a
career-high six runs.
Francisco Lindor hit a three-run homer and a solo blast for the
Indians.
Indians 13, Blue Jays 4 (Game 2)

Columbus for the start, allowed three runs, six hits and no walks
while striking out six in 7 1/3 innings.

1, hit home runs again in Game 2 to become the first Blue Jays
teammates to go deep in both ends of a doubleheader. Aledmys Diaz
hit his fifth homer of the season in the eighth. Solarte had eight
hits in the two games, a club record for a doubleheader.
Yankees 6, Astros 5
Gleyber Torres delivered a two-run single, and visiting New York
answered Houston's four-run, seventh-inning rally with three runs in
the ninth to claim a win and take the final three games of the
four-game series.

Trailing 5-3, the Yankees mounted their comeback first against Astros right-hander Will Harris (1-2), with Neil Walker, Miguel
Andujar, and pinch hitter Aaron Hicks reaching to open the frame.
Brad Peacock entered in relief of Harris and immediately surrendered
the game-tying hit to Torres before Hicks scored on a fielder's
choice grounder by Aaron Judge.
Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman struck out Jose Altuve on three
100-plus mph fastballs with the tying run on second base to earn his
seventh save.

recorded the victory with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.

injury.

Oakland.
Leadoff hitter Dee Gordon went 3-for-4 with a double and scored

allowing four runs on six hits in six innings with five strikeouts.
Rangers 11, Red Sox 5
Nomar Mazara capped a six-run fourth inning with a three-run home
run, helping Texas run away from visiting Boston.

Mike Minor (3-1) pitched six innings of three-run ball for his
second consecutive win, helping the Rangers open a seven-game
homestand on a positive note. The loss was the seventh in the last
12 games for the Red Sox, who were opening a 10-game trip.
Boston's Mookie Betts hit his fourth home run in the past two games.
The solo shot in the second inning was his American League-leading
12th of the season, and he drove in four runs in the game.
White Sox 6, Twins 5
Trayce Thompson belted a two-out, solo home run in the bottom of the
ninth to lift Chicago to a come-from-behind win over visiting
Minnesota.
Thompson's homer off Addison Reed (0-2) came on a 3-1 pitch and was
a no-doubter over the left field fence. The long ball, Thompson's
third of the season, allowed the White Sox to snap a four-game
losing streak as they opened a six-game, seven-day homestand.
Nate Jones (2-0) garnered the win by retiring Brian Dozier, the only
batter he faced, in the top of the ninth.
