During
the hours of 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Zonta volunteers along with staff and
volunteers from the Resource center will be manning the entry doors
at the store. They will be passing out a “needs” list for the
resource center and asking shoppers to purchase an item during their
shopping trip and return it to volunteers on the way out.
The group will have Joe Schaler’s pick-up truck on hand, and the
goal is to fill the truck with supplies for the resource center.
Below is a list of the items needed, and the club will also accept
gift cards which will be passed on to Linda Nelson, director of the
center for use in purchasing future supplies.

At the
next monthly meeting of the Zonta Club, the items will officially be
donated to the center with a presentation made to Nelson.
The
Pregnancy Resource Center is a resource for women who have infant
children or are expecting a child in the near future. The goal is to
provide these women with support during their pregnancy and after.
The center provides for the needs of the women through donations
such as this.

The donated items are distributed to new mothers who are having
difficulty providing for their newborn. Items provided to mothers include the
items listed above as well as clothing that is collected on a regular basis for
at the center.
The Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center is located at 308 North Union
Street in Lincoln. The mission of the organization as stated on their website
is: “Living Alternatives is committed to saving the lives of unborn children by
promoting life-affirming options and providing practical assistance, while
sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed, and to minister restoration
to those who have been wounded by the trauma of abortion.”
Their hours are Monday – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday – 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.,
Thursday – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday – 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
