Becca Heitzig places 4th in State in 800m run - other WLB athletes compete

It was a great day on Saturday for Becca Heitzig of West Lincoln-Broadwell. The sixth grader represented the Lady Wolverines on the podium at the 2018 IESA Class A State Track and Field Meet in East Peoria. Heitzig finished fourth in the state in the girls seventh grade 800m run with a time of 2:33.31.

The seventh grade girls 4x400m relay from WLB finished in 11th place Saturday with a time of 4:42.69. That team is made up of Elly Martinez, Kloe Froebe, Becca Heitzig and Jenna Bowman. Ally Battin is the alternate on that team.

Over on the boys side on Saturday Brody Whiteman and Daulton Miller competed in the high jump for eighth grade boys. Miller finished tied for ninth place with a jump of 5' 2" and Whiteman finished tied for 19th place with a jump of 5' even.

Scotty Battin also ran the eighth grade boys 110 hurdles. Battin finished in 14th place in the preliminaries with a time of 17.09.

Congratulations Elly Martinez, Kloe Froebe, Becca Heitzig, Jenna Bowman, Ally Battin, Brody Whiteman, Daulton Miller and Scotty Battin on representing WLB at State!
