County bridge project near Burton
View will close road until the end of July

The Logan County Highway Department
will be replacing a bridge on 600th Avenue near Burton View. The
bridge is located about four miles west of Lincoln and ˝ miles north
of IL Route 10.
The project is scheduled to begin on May 14th and is expected to
last until July. During construction, the road will be closed to
traffic.
The existing bridge was built in 1963. The bridge deck and the
sub-structure have significant deterioration and need to be
replaced.

The project was awarded to Otto Baum Company, located in Morton, Illinois. The
low bid on the project was $196,535. Funding will come from Logan County’s
allotment of federal transportation bridge funds along with local property tax
funds.
