James G. "Bill" Shoemaker, 96, of Lincoln passed away on January 18, 2018 at The Christian Village in Lincoln.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lincoln with Mr. Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post # 263.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Lincoln Elk's Lodge # 914 on Saturday, May 19, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with the Elk's Memorial Service Ceremony at 2:00 p.m. in the Lodge Hall.

James G. "Bill" Shoemaker was born on December 9, 1919 in Jasper County, Illinois the son of John and Della Johnson Shoemaker. he was united in marriage to Bertie B. Robertson on November 30, 1940. She preceded him in death on August 19, 2010.

He is survived by one son: Bruce (Shirley) Shoemaker of Crest Hill, Illinois. Six grandchildren, One great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son: James Richard Shoemaker, three brothers and five sisters.

Bill graduated from Lincoln Community High School . He then served in the United States Army Air Corp.

He retired from the Frank E. Green Company as President.

He was a member of the Elks Lodge # 914 in Lincoln where he was a Past Exalted Ruler, Member of American Legion Post # 263 and Veteran of Foreign Wars Post

Memorials may be made in Bill's memory to the Elks # 914 Charitable Trust .
