Block Party Features Great Silent Auction Deals!

ATLANTA
The Atlanta Public
Library will host its annual block party fundraiser on Saturday, May
19, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Festivities begin
at the Library in downtown Atlanta with a bake sale from 9 a.m.
to 3 p.m.
Kids will be able to enjoy bounce houses from noon to 5 p.m.
(weather permitting) for a $5.00 all-day charge, and there will
be free face painting from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by the Zoo
Lady and Her Crew.
From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. a fried chicken dinner catered by the
Palms Grill Café will be offered upstairs at the Library’s Union
Hall Building, 114 Arch Street, adjacent to the Atlanta Museum.
There will be a DJ from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the Library will
unveil its exciting plans for future use of the Union Hall
Building.
Throughout the day, bidding for an array of silent auction items
will continue, with winners announced at 8:45 p.m.
Auction items
include (among other prizes):

4 tickets to the Cardinals/Pirates game on June 3, with
admission to the Redbird Club;

A car detailing;

Two hours of housecleaning;

A Chicago Arts & Culture Weekend featuring tickets to a
performance of “Having Our Say” at the Goodman Theatre, a
$50 restaurant gift card to Petterino’s Restaurant adjacent
to the theatre, museum passes, and an Amtrak gift card;

tickets to a White Sox/Brewers game on June 3, 2018, a parking
pass, and a $50 Casey’s gift card;

beautiful handmade quilt and related sewing items;

Restaurant gift certificates;

sports activity package, including a one-month pass to the
Lincoln Park District Rec Center, free bowling, 36 holes of golf
at North Greens Golf course, Zumba passes, and more;

hour of flight instruction and lunch;

The Block Party is
sponsored by MATTINGLY AUTOMOTIVE of Atlanta.
All proceeds from the event will support the Library’s community
programming in 2018-19.
