At 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, local fire departments were dispatched via auto aid with Hartsburg Fire Department to the Greg Conrady farm for a report of a barn on fire that was also threatening a residence.

The call was in the Hartsburg district with assistance brought in from Atlanta, Armington, Emden, San Jose, New Holland, Middletown, Lincoln City, Lincoln Rural, LCPA, and Sheriffs Dept. Latham was also requested in to backfill and cover LRFPD district while we were out.

Lincoln Rural was the first to arrive, finding the barn to be fully engulfed as well as a house trailer next to it. The trailer was the residence of a farm hand and his family that works for the Conrady's. The occupants were at home the at the time the fire was noticed, and are the ones who contacted 9-1-1. The family exited the property with no injuries incurred.

Due to the vast amount of fire on arrival, the blaze was fought as a defensive fire from the outside. No injuries occurred to civilian or fire personnel.

The barn and trailer were a complete loss.

At noon on Tuesday, the cause of the fire was still under investigation at this time being done by LRFPD.
