The case arises out of a Lincoln Police Department investigation in
September of 2016. Using a confidential informant wearing a court
authorized overhear device, Lincoln Police were able to secure evidence
of Kawika Irrelevant, a convicted felon, selling a .38 caliber Rossi
brand revolver and five bullets for $350.00. The crime occurred at 413
		Decatur Street in Lincoln.

Based upon Mr. Irrelevant’s prior criminal history, he was charged and
convicted as an Armed Habitual Criminal, a class X felony. On March 27,
2018, Kawika Irrelevant entered into a partially negotiated plea
agreement where he pleaded guilty to the offense and the State’s
Attorney’s Office agreed to cap their sentencing recommendation at 17
		years in prison.

“We are very pleased with the Court’s sentence. Our hope is that
such a significant sentence will send a message that the illegal
possession, sale, or use of firearms will be met with a serious
consequence,” stated Logan County State’s Attorney Jonathan Wright.
