Lincoln College women’s golfer Amber Bausch recently competed in the
National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women’s Golf
National Championship. The event was held May 14th through 17th at
Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona. Bausch, a sophomore from Moline,
Illinois, posted a four-day total of 404 (101-107-97-99) which put
her in 97th place overall.
Bausch’s appearance at the national event was a victory in itself
considering her road to recovery following knee surgery prior to the
start of the 2017-2018 season.
“Amber did a great job working hard to get her knee back in golf
shape after having surgery last summer,” said head Women’s Golf
Coach Carol Wilson. “Her final score isn’t a true indicator of the
shots she made to keep the ball out of the desert and out of
bounds,” Wilson added.
Daytona State College won the NJCAA National Team Championship.
Dayton captured their 10th title and 3rd consecutive in record
fashion with an even-par 1,152 to set the lowest four round total in
NJCAA history by 24 strokes. In addition to the team record, Dayton
golfers Jiwon Jeon and Grace St-Germain each posted an individual
record of 8-under, 280. Jeon edged St-Germain in a three-hole
playoff to win medalist honors.

Coach Wilson was happy that Bausch got the chance to play on such a
big stage. “It was a great opportunity for Amber to compete in the
NJCAA National Championship for the final year of our participation.
Lincoln College has had great representation at the women’s golf
national tournament in the past years and we are looking forward to
competing for a chance to go to nationals in the NAIA,” said Wilson.
