Mount Pulaski High School awards 45 diplomas to Class of 2018

 

[May 24, 2018]  Mount Pulaski High School commencement was held on May 19th, at 4 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The ceremony began with the posting of colors by Mount Pulaski American Legion Post #447.

The processional, “Pomp and Circumstance” was played by the Mount Pulaski High School band, under the direction of Mr. David Helm.

Mr. Jordan Sanchez led the Pledge of Allegiance. Opening remarks were given by Mr. Corey Beccue. Mr. Austin Daggett, 2018 senior class president, addressed the group and Mr. Terry Morgan gave remarks.

Miss Olivia Letterle and Miss Faith Doerr were named Co-Salutatorians, both addressed the group. Mr. Peyton Taylor was named Valedictorian and also addressed the crowd.

Students who had a 3.5 or above cumulative grade point average were awarded honor pins.

A senior class slideshow, prepared by Miss Emma Schoth and Miss Abbegail Phillips, was shown.

Diplomas were awarded to Forty-Five graduates by school board members Mr. Jeffrey Beccue and Mrs. Deanne Mott.

Closing remarks were given by Mr. Nathan Ford. The Mount Pulaski American Legion retired the colors, and the recessional, played by the high school band, completed the ceremony.
