Lincoln Daily News is pleased to congratulate State Champions Reese
McCuan and Trent Koehler of Zion Lutheran School in Lincoln.
Both athletes participated in the Lutheran School Association State
Track and Field Meet at Concordia University Chicago in River Forest
over the weekend and they both finished first in the long jump among
other events.
Zion Track and Field Coach Kate Van Slett was very proud of both of
these outstanding student-athletes and offered this following the
state meet:
Reese McCuan
"This was Reese's last year to compete at the LSA State Track Meet
and I am so proud of what she accomplished. She is truly an amazing
athlete with a bright future ahead of her. At the State Track Meet
Reese placed first in the Long Jump with a jump of 15 feet 2 inches,
third in the Triple Jump with a jump of 31 feet 8 inches, and second
in the 400m with a time of 1:02.02 (This is a new school record).
She was able to rack up 24 points in the girls division placing Zion
Lutheran in seventh place out of 37 teams overall in the meet."
Trent Koehler
"This was also Trent's last year to compete at the LSA State Track
Meet and I am also very proud of what Trent has accomplished this
season. Trent always strives to be the best athlete he can be and I
cannot wait to see what the future holds for him.

At the State Track Meet Trent placed first in the Long Jump with a
jump of 17 feet 10 inches, sixth in Triple Jump with a jump of 35
feet 5.25 inches, and placed third in the 400 with a time of 59.98.
He was able to rack up 19 points in the boys division placing Zion
Lutheran in 13th place out of 34 teams overall in the meet."
Congratulations to both Reese and Trent on an amazing finish to
their junior high track and field careers!
