Obituary
Thomas C. Tiffany, 86, of Lincoln,
passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018, at St. Clara’s
Rehab and Senior Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy
Family Catholic Church with Rev. Jeffrey G. Laible
officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in
rural Middletown with Military Rites performed by
American Legion Post #263.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018,
from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peasley
Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be held at 4:30
p.m. prior to the visitation.
Thomas C. Tiffany was born October 16, 1931, the son
of Charles Lorenzo and Elva Ann Masterson Tiffany.
He was united in marriage with Ruth E. “Betty”
Dehner on April 4, 1959, at St. Patrick’s Catholic
Church in Lincoln. She preceded him in death on
February 2, 2006.
Tom is survived by daughter Rachael A. (Richard)
Simpson of Beavercreek, Ohio; sons Douglas (Cathy)
Tiffany and Tom Tiffany, both of Lincoln; special
friend and companion Peggy Loeffelholz; seven
grandchildren: Ryan Simpson, Bret (Emily) Simpson,
Emily (Dan) Roessner, Elaine (Zach) Toft, Sam
Tiffany, Will Tiffany, and Adrienne Tiffany; four
great-grandchildren: Sophia and Olivia Simpson, Jack
and Evelyn Roessner, and Isabella Toft;
brother-in-law Gerry (Susan) Dehner; and
sisters-in-law: Nancy Mathews and Valerie (Gary)
Crawford. |
Tom graduated from Lincoln Community
High School in 1949 and the University of Illinois
in 1957. He served in the United States Navy, on the
USS Cubera (SS347), from 1951 - 1954. Tom retired
from the Lincoln Developmental Center as an
administrator in 1999.
He is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church,
Knights of Columbus Council #1250, American Legion Post #263, and
the Elks Lodge #914.
Tom proudly served his community as a West Lincoln Township
Supervisor, Logan County Board Member, and a Precinct Committee
Member.
His love of boating, fishing, and camping brought family and friends
together for many wonderful times.
Tom touched the lives of many as a devoted husband, father,
father-in-law, grandfather, and great friend.
Memorials may be made to Carroll Catholic School or Holy Family
Catholic Church.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of
Lincoln.
