The Lincoln College Men’s and Women’s Track and Field season came to
an end at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)
National meet hosted by Butler College in Eldorado, Kansas.

April Goetz

Carrissa Tinsley
Two of the biggest highlights from the meet were April Goetz’s 9th
place finish in the 10,000 Meter and Carrissa Tinsley finishing 10th
in the shot. Jaid’en Nelson barely missed the top 10 with an 11th
place finish in the hammer.

Lincoln Coach Brian Herron said, “I thought that April and Carrissa
overcame a lot to finish where they did in this meet. This was the
hottest weather that we competed in by far all season. April did a
great job of staying aggressive and positive during her race.
There were more experienced runners that did not handle the heat as
well as she did. Coach Richardson and April had a great race
strategy. Carrissa overcame an illness at the meet and by the
smallest of margins barely missed finals. She showed a lot of heart
to compete at the level that she did. We are very proud of both of
these young ladies.”
