[May 30, 2018]  LINCOLN - Billy Edwards, 80, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation:  9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln

Service:  11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home

Obituary

Billy Edwards, 80, of Lincoln passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Billy was born on April 8, 1938 in Emporia, KS. The son of Harry and Lola (Bannister) Edwards, Billy was raised by his mother and step-father, Edwin Davison. He married Norma Brest on June 22, 1958 in Lincoln, she survives.

Billy is also survived by his children, Michael (Debbie) Edwards, Gail (John “Q-Ball”) O’Donoghue, and William Edwards; his sister, Linda (Lloyd) Gleason; ten grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judith Edwards Rohlfs.

 

Billy worked at Stetson China factory in Lincoln before his college years; after college he worked for Volle Electric in Springfield. Billy had a true passion for music, especially playing his guitar with the Rhythm Royals. Billy also loved hunting, fishing, and walking through the timber; he was a true outdoorsman. Billy was baptized in the Protestant Faith.

Services for Billy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation will take place two hours prior to the services (9:00-11:00a.m.) also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Lucas Chapel Cemetery in Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made in Billy’s name to Parkinson Research Foundation.
