LINCOLN
The public is invited to join the Logan Count Tourism Bureau,
Military Order of the Purple Heart and the Logan County Veterans
Assistance Commission at the Lincoln Depot on Sunday November 11th
at 1:30 p.m. for a special Armistice Day 100-year celebration.
On the 11th day, of the 11th month in 2018 people worldwide will
mark the 100th anniversary of Armistice Day, pausing to recognize
those who sacrificed and those who will sacrifice in the defense of
freedom and democracy.
At the Depot we will celebrate this special occasion with patriotic
music performed by local vocalists and a special presentation by
local historian Bill Donath. The American Legion Color Guard will
offer the presentation of the flag with assistance provided by Dan
Benedict of the VAC.

Donath will share with the audience information about World War I based on the
research he did for his book “Generosity” which is centered on the sacrifices of
the Logan County community during the war, and the soldiers who gave all for
their country and their community.
Donath will have copies of his book on hand for sale. The Heritage in Flight
Museum will offer an impressive display of World War I military items and the
Logan County Genealogical and Historical Society will also have World War I
items on hand for viewing.
We invite everyone to stay for refreshments afterwards.
This event is free and open to the public.
