Atlanta Public Library chosen to host Bicentennial event

[November 01, 2018]   On November 2, 2018, the Atlanta Public Library and Museum will host a special Illinois Bicentennial Podcast at Union Hall, 114 Arch Street in Atlanta (enter through the Palms Grill Café).

Just one of seven organizations throughout the State selected by Illinois Humanities to participate in this series of live podcasts entitled Illinois Turns 200, the Library and Museum will feature a program of live music, dramatic performances, story-telling, and interviews. This episode is one of a seven-part series celebrating the Illinois Bicentennial and will air on public radio and be available for download in December.

The Atlanta program will look at the past, present and future of Atlanta, with a special focus on Route 66 and its impact on the community.

The evening begins with dinner at 5:30 p.m. catered by the Palms Grill Café, with the program to follow at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free with the purchase of dinner or for a nominal fee guests may attend the program only.
