							Obituary 
							Larry R. Motley, 76, of Lincoln, 
							passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 23, 
							2018, at 10:07 a.m.
 Memorial Services will be held at the First United 
							Methodist Church in Lincoln on Saturday, October 27, 
							2018, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Bradley Curtis will 
							officiate. Cremation Rites have been accorded.
 
 Burial will be in New Union Cemetery. Military Rites 
							to be accorded by Lincoln American Legion Post #263.
 
 Larry Ross Motley was born March 4, 1942, in 
							Hannibal, Mo., the son of William Ross and Winifred 
							Garner Motley. He grew up in El Dara, Ill. Larry was 
							united in marriage with Carolyn Clark on Aug. 20, 
							1977, in El Dara. She survives.
 
 Larry is also survived by one son: Gregory Culwell.
 
 He was preceded in death by his parents.

            Larry graduated from Barry Community High School in 
			1960 and then served in the United States Army in the 113th 
			Intelligence Corp. He retired from the Illinois Department of 
			Veterans Affairs as a Senior Public Service Administrator. Larry was 
			a member of Lincoln American Legion Post #263, 40 and 8 Command 985, 
			and the United Methodist Church in Barry, Ill. He was also a 
			lifetime member of AMVETS.
 Larry enjoyed mushroom hunting, and watching sports, especially 
			Illinois football and basketball, Cubs baseball, Bears Football, and 
			Blackhawks hockey.
 
 Memorials may be made to Lincoln American Legion Post #263 or the 
			American Cancer Society Lincoln Relay for Life.
 
 Final arrangements are entrusted with Peasley Funeral Home of 
			Lincoln.
