Obituary
Bettie J. Turner, 93, of Atlanta,
passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Advocate
BroMenn Medical Center in Normal.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Turner will be held on
Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta. Mr. Maurice
Stribling will officiate. Burial will follow in the
Atlanta Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on
Friday, November 9, 2018, at the funeral home.
Bettie Jean Menzel was born February 5, 1925, in
Lawndale, the daughter of Donald C. and Nelva Wise
Menzel. She married Don Turner on August 18, 1946,
in Atlanta. He survives.

Bettie is also survived by their
daughters: Sandra (Dennis) Smith, Susan Turner,
Sheryl (Joe) Kaul, and Sally (Gary) McGinnis; three
grandchildren: Lora (Matt) Puckett, Scott Smith, and
Sarah Kaul; three adopted grandchildren; one
great-granddaughter: Ashleigh Smith; one brother:
Donald C. Menzel, Jr.; and special niece Betsy
Kindred Shifflet.
She was preceded in death by one infant daughter,
Donna Jo Turner; one sister: Juanita Kindred; and her parents.
Bettie was a member of the Atlanta Christian Church. She enjoyed
flower gardening and playing cards, her kids and grandkids, and
family pets.
Memorials may be made to Atlanta Rescue Squad, Atlanta Christian
Church, or the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
Final arrangements are entrusted with Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of
Atlanta.
