Two events, scheduled simultaneously, will kick off the 2019 Harvest
of Talents for World Hunger on Saturday, December 8. The Fellowship
Center Family Room of Lincoln Christian Church will be the site of
the Annual Harvest of Talents Christmas Cookie Walk, the first event
of the 36th Harvest. A variety of homemade Christmas cookies will be
offered for sale, either at $6.00 per pound boxed or in a plated
assortment for $15.00. Hours of the Cookie Walk are from 8:00 a.m.
until 11:00 a.m. or when sold out. Questions concerning the Cookie
Walk may be directed to Georgia Vinson @217-732-9069.
Tickets for the Annual Spring for Tea, scheduled for April 27, 2019,
will be available on the morning of the Cookie Walk @$25.00 each. As
an “early bird special” the purchaser of each of the first seven
packs of two tickets will receive the special Spring for Tea blend
of tea packaged with their tickets on a first come, first served
basis.
Pre-ordered cinnamon and caramel pecan Harvest rolls will be
available for pickup in the kitchen of the church, entering through
the green canopy entrance to the Youth Wing of the Fellowship
Center, during the same hours as the Cookie Walk.

The Take and Bake rolls may be pre-ordered, with prepayment, though Monday,
November 26, at the church office (during regular hours) or by contacting Mel
Schaler @ 217-871-8254 or @tlkatv@yahoo.com. Cinnamon rolls are priced @ $3.00
each (no minimum) and Caramel Pecan rolls are available @$3.50 each (minimum 4).
Baking instructions are included.
Carolyn Neal, Harvest Chairperson, points out that the two December Harvest
events are designed to ease the burden of Christmas baking by not only making
homemade Christmas cookies available for holiday entertaining but also to
provide the Harvest’s signature cinnamon and caramel pecan rolls, ready to bake
on Christmas morning.
The 4th Saturday in October, 2019, will be the site of the 36th Annual Harvest
of Talents for World Hunger. All proceeds from the annual event are earmarked to
meet hunger needs worldwide in Jesus’ name.
