Meet the Lady Railers - 2018-19 girls basketball season kicks off with two tournaments

The Lady Railers Basketball Team hosted a Meet the Railers night last week to kick off the 2018-19 season. Lincoln Head Coach Taylor Rohrer was excited to introduce the team and get the season underway.

"This is a great group of girls," said Rohrer. "I'm excited about the talent, commitment, and leadership my upperclassmen bring to our team. We are a young team, with only four upperclassmen, but very hardworking. I am looking forward to coaching this Lady Railer team, seeing them grow as players and come together as the season progresses."

Rohrer will be assisted by Todd Koehler and Danielle Hauch. The Lady Railers will be starting their second season in the Apollo Conference.

The Lady Railers JV opened the season on Friday night by hosting the Lincoln Frosh/Soph Girls Basketball Tournament. Lincoln won 51-20 over Peoria Notre Dame on Friday night. On Saturday the Lady Railers lost to Canton and Rochester.

Normal U-High won the Lincoln Frosh/Soph Tournament.

The Lady Railers Varsity opened the season on Saturday at the Limestone Community High School Varsity Girls Basketball Tournament. Here Lincoln dropped the first game 43-41 to Peoria Manual. In game two Lincoln lost 58-45 to Limestone.

The Lady Railers will play later today at 5:30 p.m. in the tournament.
