The win was the second of the season for the
Lady Lynx and improves the team’s record to 2-5 on the season.
Lincoln’s Nautica Preston, a 5’4” junior guard from Chicago,
Illinois, led all scorers with 28 points and she pulled down six
rebounds. Sophomore forward Kaleia Monteiro (Rockford) recorded
a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. Monteiro also
pitched in on the defensive end with five steals and three
blocked shots.
Coach Deronte Polite saw great team-chemistry on the floor in
this game. “We won a very tough game tonight. I was proud of my
team’s effort and execution of the game plan,” said Coach
Polite. “Nautica and Kaleia were highlights in the box score,
but it was a total team effort,” he added. “Samantha Realford
gave us great minutes off the bench, and we had at least one
assist from seven of the nine players that played tonight—which
represents how we want to play the game.”
Lincoln’s next game will be on November 21st when they travel to
Indiana to take on Indiana University East (NAIA) at 7:00 PM.
