Porta won the 2018 Bill Rucks Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament
on Saturday night by coming from behind to beat Illini Central
61-55.
The Blue Jays held a 27-25 advantage at the half, but the
Cougars put up 24 points in the third quarter to jump ahead
49-44.
The Blue Jays took over the fourth quarter and the Cougars
couldn't recover, scoring just six points in the final minutes.
Porta improves to 4-0 to start the season and with the 61-55
win, the Blue Jays take home the first place trophy.
The Blue Jays' Mason Muller led all scorers with 22 points. Max
May led the Cougars with 18 points.

The Saints defeated Delavan 50-35.
The winner of the fifth place game was Decatur LSA. The Lions
defeated Tri-City 62-51.
