[October 01, 2018]    Elkhart Pride will be holding their Fall/Winter Children’s Consignment Sale on Friday, October 5th, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, October 6, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Village Hall, 209 Governor Oglesby Street in Elkhart.

Proceeds from the sale fund their annual Village Spring Egg Hunt & Carnival and sponsored activities and events that benefit Village families and the community.

“This is the second year for our sales,” says Abby Fletcher, Co-chair of Elkhart Pride. “We had our spring sales in 2018 and 2019, and this is our second annual fall/winter sale.” The sale includes clothing (infant through youth 16/18 sizes) and shoes, baby gear, toys, and sports gear.

“After our consignment sale last fall, we donated over 25 garbage bags full of clothes that didn’t get sold to Logan County’s foster children’s program and 20 coats to Logan County’s annual Winter Coat Drive,” relates Fletcher. “Annually Elkhart Pride has approximately 100 children at our Egg Hunt & Carnival event and 120 attended last year’s Halloween candy and food collection. We continue to grow and expand our activities in the community.”

New this year, Elkhart Pride is hosting monthly evening activities for village families. “October’s Fun Night Out will be Slime Night - where the kids and their sponsors can make slime!” says Carrie Fights, Co-chair of the group. “And on Halloween, we’ll be hosting treats, food and drinks at the Village Hall – and hay rack rides around the village.”

Elkhart Pride’s mission is to work toward a more connected and enriched community through local events and activities. “Elkhart Pride also mobilizes people and resources when there is an immediate need in the village,” states Peggy Lee, Trustee for the Village of Elkhart. “For example, Elkhart Pride facilitated an emergency food drive for a family in need during the summer, collecting two trucks full of food and goods for the family. They provide a wonderful service for the young families in our village.”
