Members of the Hartsburg-Emden FFA Chapter,
attended a youth leadership conference at the University of Illinois
on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. The leadership conference focused
on first-year FFA members from 50 chapters around the state.

First year FFA members, also known as Greenhands,
participated in a series of three hands-on workshops centered on the
theme Build: Design, Develop, Display. The workshop sessions
addressed teamwork, problem solving, and goal setting. Students were
encouraged to view their membership in the FFA organization as an
opportunity to improve on their individual strengths and leadership
skills.

Students from the College of ACES Agricultural Leadership and
Science Education Program hosted, planned, and presented the workshop sessions.
The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their
potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through
agricultural education.
