 The evening begins with dinner catered by the Palms Grill Café
at 5:30pm, with the performance to follow at 7:00pm in the Union
Hall Performance Space adjacent to the Atlanta Museum. The
concert is sponsored by the Illinois Arts Council Agency and the
Illinois Prairie Community Foundation.
The concert is free with the purchase of dinner. There are a
limited number of tickets available for the concert only. These
will be available at the door beginning at 6:45pm. For more

The Woodwind Quintet reprises an exciting performance by the
Illinois Symphony Brass Quintet in 2016. The concert will
feature a variety of music inspired in part by the rural
landscape and experience. The event kicks off a season dedicated
to celebrating community in conjunction to the Smithsonian
exhibit entitled “Crossroads: Change in Rural America” to be
hosted by the Atlanta Library and Museum in February and March
2019.

The Illinois Symphony Orchestra marks its 25th anniversary this year
under the direction of Music Director Kenneth Lam.
The ISO was formed in 1993 as a consolidation of two well
established organizations: the Springfield Symphony Orchestra
Association and the Bloomington-Normal Symphony Society.
The Orchestra has won numerous awards and appeared at Lincoln Center
and Carnegie Hall during the tenure of Conductor Laureate Kenneth
Kiesler. It has performed statewide at the Illinois State Fair,
Millennium Park in Chicago, and the Ravinia Festival.
The ISO is actively involved in community engagement, winning the
“Community Event of the Year” from the Illinois Council of
Orchestras for its 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration involving
over 1,000 performers. In 2015, the Orchestra performed a
commemorative concert for the 150th Anniversary of the Lincoln
Funeral Train with over 25o performers drawn from throughout central
Illinois.
