The Lincoln College Men's Soccer team traveled
to St. Louis on Tuesday to take on Harris Stowe State University
and came back with a 1-0 shutout win.
The Lynx scored in the 5th minute of the match when Julian Roman
(Waukegan) found his brother Adrian Roman (Waukegan) in open
field at the top of the box. Adrian fired away to score what
would turn out to be the game-winning goal.
Throughout the rest of the match, both teams played well
defensively. LC would total nine more shots on goal, but were
unable to score. Goalie Pierson Fleming (Springfield) would turn
away six shots on goal from HSSU to preserve the 1-0 lead and
seal the win.
“Harris Stowe was a very well organized team who defend well and
attack with numbers, said LC Head Coach Ben Massena. “It's a
good win for our program and shows we can grind out close
matches.”
The Lynx (3-5) will take on Freede-Hardeman University for a
home match on Friday, October 12th at 2:00 PM.
