Wolverine basketball recap: All WLB Lady Wolverine teams remain
undefeated

All of the Lady Wolverines basketball teams have been busy the past
few weeks. The Lady Wolverines remain undefeated as well as brought
home the Seventh Grade Taylorville Tournament Championship and the
Sixth grade Mount Pulaski Tournament Champions.
Here is a summary of their success:
WLB Seventh defeated Heyworth 7th by a score of 57-0. Froebe led all
scorers with 12 as Whiteman added 10, and Mia Clark 9. Marin
Luckhart led in rebounding with 4.
WLB Seventh Grade defeated many future Apollo teams in the
Taylorville Tournament to claim the Championship.
WLB defeated Charleston 63-10 Froebe led all scorers with 32, then
defeated Taylorville 55-30, Froebe led in scoring with 23 as Bowman
added 12 and Becca Heitzig 8.
Next up was future Apollo team Mattoo. WLB defeated Mattoon by a
score of 42-17, scoring leaders were Froebe with 27, Tori Geriets
and Becca Heitzig 4.
The Championship game found WLB against Rochester. WLB came out
victorious by a score of 49-15 to clinch the championship. Froebe
led in the scoring column with 27 as Bowman added 10. Kloe Froebe
and Jenna Bowman were also selected to the All Tournament team.
WLB Seventh defeated Athens 49-7. Froebe led in scoring with 16 as
Bowman added 8, Heitzig 6, Piper Whiteman and Lily Holmes added 4.
WLB Eighth defeated Athens by a score of 59-23. Kloe Froebe found
the basket and connected with 43 points including 5 three pointers,
as Becca Heitzig had 6 and Elly Martinez 5.
WLB Eighth grade defeated Heyworth by a score of 61-13. Froebe led
all scorers with 30, as Martinez added 11. Whiteman led on the
boards with 5 as Froebe led in steals with 6.
WLB Fifth/Sixth Grade Team defeated CEL by a score of 55-4. Marin
Luckhart came out on fire as she poured in 16 points, Piper Whiteman
connected for 12, Lily Holmes 8, Mia Clark 7
WLB Eighth defeated CEL by a score of 67-6. Froebe was leading
scoring with 36 as Tori Geriets added 8. Martinez had a great
passing game as she led in assist with 7. Froebe and Geriets led on
the boards as well with 6. Froebe also led the defensive attack with
9 steals.
To round out the two weeks the Seventh and Eighth Grade Team
traveled to Carroll Catholic where the Seventh Grade Team defeated
CCS/NHM/Zion by a score of 45-7.Froebe led in scoring with 10, as
Jenna Bowman chipped in 8, Alison Turner 5 and Mia Clark 5, Alyssa
Bishop also added 4.

WLB Eighth grade defeated CCS/NHM/ZLS by a score of 73-6. Froebe
once again led in the scoring column with 24, as Elly Martinez added
15, Jenna Bowman 13, Becca Heitzig and Piper Whiteman both with 8.
With these wins the Eighth Grade Lady Wolverine Team is now 8-0, and
the Seventh Grade Team is 12-0.
The Fifth and Sixth Grade Team traveled to Mount Pulaski on Saturday
to defend their Sixth Grade Tournament Championship.
The Lady Wolverines started the tourney off by facing Athens. WLB
defeated Athens by a score of 34-19. Mia Clark and Piper Whiteman
led in scoring with 9. Rebecca Burge also added 7, Lily Holmes 5,
Marin Luckhart 4.
Next up was tournament host Mount Pulaski. WLB defeated Pulaski by a
score of 31-11. Mia Clark led all scorers with 11 as Piper Whiteman
added 10.
With those wins the Lady Wolverines found themselves in the
Championship game against Williamsville. The Lady Wolverines came
ready to play and jumped out to a 27-2 halftime lead. The Lady
Wolverines went on to win the Championship and defeat Williamsville
by a score of 37-9. Mia Clark led all scorers with 17 as Piper
Whiteman and Lily Holmes added 6 a piece.
The Fifth/Sixth Grade Team is now 4-0
The Lady Wolverines are back in action tonight at home vs. Christ
the King and will be home Thursday night against Mount Pulaski.
