[October 11, 2018]  MIDDLETOWN - James Leroy Daniels “Pops”, 62, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Friday September 28, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday October 8, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home

James Leroy Daniels “Pops”, 62, passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Friday September 28, 2018 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

James was born on October 12, 1955 in Lincoln, IL; son of James Oliver and Betty (Farnham) Daniels. He married Cheryl Lowe on March 31, 1973 in Lincoln. She survives him.

Also surviving James are his children: Jerry (Elizabeth) Daniels, Jessica (David “Tubby”) Sullivan, and Joseph (Jamie) Daniels all of Middletown, two sisters: Shirley Tibbs and Ann Daniels both of Lincoln, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son James Daniels Jr., and 2 grandchildren: Emery Daniels and Bethany Sullivan.

James loved music and it was a big part of his life, he also enjoyed fishing, but his favorite thing in life was his wife and family; he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Services for James will be 11:00 a.m. Monday October 8, 2018 at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Eldon Davis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service (10:00-11:00 a.m.) also at the funeral home. Burial at Lawndale Cemetery will follow the service.

Memorials may be made in James’s name to the MS Foundation.
