- Charles “Chuck” Brainard, 83, of Lincoln, passed
away on October 5, 2018 in Springfield, while in ICU at Memorial
Medical Center.

Christian Church

11 a.m. Friday at the church

Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Brainard, 83, of
Lincoln passed away on October 5, 2018 in
Springfield, while in ICU at Memorial Medical
Center.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday,
October 12, 2018 at Lincoln Christian Church with
Ron Otto officiating. Visitation will take place one
hour prior to the service also at the church.
Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home, Lincoln.
Chuck was born in Princeton to Ted and Ruth Brainard
on February 22, 1935. He went to school in Princeton
and is a 1963 graduate of Southern Illinois
University. He has been married to Carol Anne
(Hoffmann) for 59 years. He has worked a wide
variety of jobs, including the owner of Lincoln
Skateland from 1972 to 1979 and most recently
retired from Eaton Corp in 2008. He was a US Air
Force veteran of the early cold war era from 1954 to
1957.
Chuck is preceded in death by his father and mother.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Carol
Anne; his son Charles E. (Sherry) Brainard, daughter
Laurie E. (Lynnwood) Armstrong, daughter Linda L.
(Tim) Jamison, daughter Susan J. (Shawn) Conver, son
David A. (Amber) Brainard; his sister Linda Bickett;
his grandchildren Brian and Katharine Brainard,
Elizabeth (Trever) Nolte, Dorothy Maddan, Derek and
Dallas Conver, Matthew (Andrea) Armstrong, Megan
Armstrong, Rhett, Ryan, and Allyson Jamison; he has
5 great grandchildren.
